I recently had the pleasure of being the Master of Ceremonies for Mattie and Justen Eason on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at The Grand Magnolia in Pascagoula, MS.
Mattie and Justen were looking for something completely different from other weddings that they attended. They wanted their reception to be unique and fun and for everyone to be involved and participating rather than being spectators on the side.
Mattie and Justen were such a pleasure to work with from the very beginning!
I often send out surveys to my couples after their wedding to get an idea of how I’m doing. 🙂
I wanted to share a survey letter that they sent me today:
“We wanted to have the kind of wedding reception where people were begging to stay for more at the end of the night. We had lots of family coming in from out-of-town and we wanted to show them all a good time, so that they would go home thinking that they were glad they hadn’t missed out. After all, what better reason to celebrate is there than two people, two families coming together?
We received a great deal of advice from many people throughout the planning process, however, I believe the one that remains true is that picking good vendors will be the number one determiner of how well your reception goes.
When we met with Jim, we knew from the start that he was a go-getter, passionate about his work, and most importantly reliable. A reception with Jim Horn is unlike any reception you have ever been to. Jim has so many creative ideas to make your reception one like you have never seen before. After hiring Jim Horn, I felt like I did not have to worry about planning the reception.
I met so many brides who were worried about timelines, making sure people danced, when to cut the cake, how to do this and how to do that. We did not have to worry about any of this. Since we were located in Atlanta and Jim on the Gulf Coast we had all of two Skype meetings. My husband never met Jim in person until the day of the wedding. During these meetings, we had lovely conversation, laughed a little, but most of all we talked about our visions for the reception and Jim took those visions and made them happen. What was most useful, was the timeline that Jim provided for our reception after our Skype meetings with him. From that point, we knew exactly how our reception would flow and did not have to worry about it. Jim also sent out the timeline to ALL of our vendors so that they were all on board with each other.
Many people worry about what will go wrong on their wedding day, but we knew that with Jim Horn was on our side, all would go well, and it absolutely did! Jim ran our reception smoother than I could have ever imagined and everyone had an absolute blast! All of our families were out on the dance floor from children to grandparents and even Jim made an appearance on the dance floor ; )
Hiring Jim Horn Entertainment was 100% the best decision we made in the wedding planning process.
I urge any bride considering Jim Horn to set up an initial meeting with him, I think you will be convinced from there on. Know that when hiring Jim, you are not just hiring someone to press play on the computer screen, you are hiring someone who will make the most important day of your life all the more memorable for you and your guests.”
